Toronto Mass Choir (TMC) has announced that Anne-Marie Woods, a.k.a. Amani, will perform at the gala fundraiser on November 6th, 2009 at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Toronto.  TMC director, Karen Burke, is looking forward, as well, to a possible collaboration.

“Gospel music is a powerful genre of music and so it is always exciting when we can collaborate with artists that are known for excellence in their genre.  Amani is also known for her emotive and passionate delivery.”

This will not be the first time that TMC has paired Gospel music with Spoken Word.  Dwayne Sewell’s creative contribution was featured on the title track of TMC’s 2007 all-Caribbean gospel album, ‘Going Home”.

TMC is one of Canada’s longest serving and most successful gospel music choirs, having performed in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. They have also visited Europe, including Poland in May 2008 where they performed for more than 8000 people. This is the second year for this elegant gala and the theme this year is ‘freedom’, and the impact that gospel music has had inspiring people to find freedom and hope.

Advance tickets are available for $50 and after October 20th, $60. Price includes full access to the event, including inspirational gospel music, food, and the silent auction.
