New album, who dis? Yeah, that’s right – the 12th album released by TMC is now available everywhere for sale! We kicked off our new album’s release with a concert on June 2nd at Humber College’s Lakeshore Auditorium. This is a special album for us because as much as we love performing and recording our own original music, there are a lot of covers that we perform that are especially close to our hearts. And when we perform those, we often have concert-goers flocking to our merchandise table asking for those songs, but we didn’t have them on any album! So this release is for those people and for us — “By Special Request”.
The album release concert was a great night, on a hot summer June night (I remember because our attire was all white and you KNOW we were sweating up a storm on stage!!). We were lucky enough to have not one, but two special guests with us to ring in this new album.
First off, the night opened with a special performance from Gospel Trumpeter, Dave Brown. A staple in the gospel community, Dave brought it with his signature sounds and honest worship. Beautiful to hear!
Another VERY special guest at our concert was the gospel vocal ensemble, Sweet Sound! It’d been over 20 years since they had sung together, so it was amazing to see them back on stage where they belong! The group released an album that same night titled, “Classics”, a re-mastered collection of their hits that had only been previously released on vinyl or cassette (some of you are thinking ‘what are those’? LOL). After so many years apart, they definitely still got it! Those harmonies were on point….and I’m in no way biased to say that! 😉
But of course, the headlining act, TMC, had to get up there and do our thing! From top to bottom, the energy was so out of this world — our band is amazing, the music was pumping and we were so excited to sing the songs that have been on our heart for so long. Songs like ‘Purple’ by Donnie McClurkin, or “Trust Me” by Richard Smallwood have become healing for us as we sing and being able to include classics like these on this new album was a special treat.
So of course, you have to go buy your copy now, right? Our new album, “By Special Request” is available now everywhere that music is sold — go and get it! Put it in your car and be blessed!
12 albums, 30 years —who’s knows what’s next for TMC? Check in again soon for more updates – that’s my special request of you 🙂
